The wings are constructed using ply and balsa ribs, ply trailing edges and aluminium spars. They are then sheeted with balsa. I use ply for the ribs where-ever extra strength is needed such as the wheel wells and the servo supports.
This is the second aircraft I've built using twin aluminum spars. Like all designs, we need to balance weight and strength. This aircraft is not designed for aerobatics or high performance so I'm happy trade a little extra weight for massive extra strength using this design.
